On July 31, the U.S. Ambassador and U.S. Embassy staff members traveled to Dekemehare. While attending the American Corner and Public Library, the Ambassador presented prizes to U.S. Embassy sponsored quiz winners, as well as supplied a new modem to the American Corner to enable more efficient internet access to the public. An American Embassy staff member read to elementary school children, after which the U.S. Embassy donated several boxes full of new books to the Corner. The trip also included tours of the Don Bosco Technical School and the Faith Mission. At the Faith Mission, the Ambassador met with faculty, staff, and students and distributed magazines and other reading material for the upcoming school year. The Ambassador toured the Don Bosco Technical School, dropped in on several classes and workshops, and visited with students, instructors, and administrators.
