Bana Junior High in Asmara Celebrates Opening of New Library

On Thursday afternoon, January 25, 2007, Public Affairs Officer Carol Herrera and Cultural Affairs Assistant Saba Aregahegn attended the opening ceremony for the new library at Bana Junior Secondary School.  The program included poetry and music by students from nearby senior high schools as well as recitations in English on various topics including the importance of being a serious student and good hygiene by the junior high students.
 
The library was inaugurated by the Head of Education in Central Zone, Mr. Kiflay Andemichael. In his speech Mr. Kiflay thanked the U.S. Embassy for its $7500 contribution for the development of school libraries in the Central Zone.
