October 31, 2008 American Club lecture “The U.S Election Process”
Consular Officer Brian Shelbourn was a guest lecturer for the American Club on October 30 at the Eritro-German Auditorium. Over 150 people came to learn more about the U.S. Election Process. Mr. Shelbourn provided background information regarding the history of the United States and continued with the many stages of the election such as the campaign, fundraising, and debates. The event included a lively question and answer session regarding the Electoral College, racism, and how finances can influence an election.
