Higher Education in the United States Information and Cultural Exchange 

Mr. Owen sharing his experience with the students

On June 19, 2007, a group discussion and advising session on education in the United States was held in the Eritro-German auditorium. Owen McMullen an undergraduate University student, and the educational advisor from the US Embassy in Asmara, advised a group of 80 students. Mr. McMullen shared his experiences at an American University by giving practical examples on admission procedures, financial aid, and international students’ challenges. The educational advisor, in addition to answering questions regarding application procedures, provided books on locating universities as well as material and regarding standardized tests such as the TOEFL, GRE, and SAT.
