International Education Week Celebrated in Asmara November 17-21, 2008

Educational opportunities by Dr. Tadesse

International Education Week was celebrated with two wonderful speakers and educational films. Dr. Sara Ogbay spoke about her experience as a student in the United Kingdom and her experience traveling to Universities in the United States. She provided poignant stories about cultural differences and educational styles.

Dr. Tadesse Mehari from the Ministry of Education provided a framework of post secondary educational opportunities in Eritrea. He provided information about the 7 colleges in Eritrea.

The film "Stand and Deliver" was shown at the Eritro-German Auditorium to educational professionals and interested patrons. The film showcased a teacher in Los Angeles that was able to inspire a group of disadvantaged students. The children's film program showcased several educational films.
