Transition of Power by Political Officer Ajani Husbands January 29, 2009

On Thursday January 30^th, Political Officer Ajani Husbands hosted a Public Diplomacy lecture on Peaceful Transition of Presidential Power in the United States. Incorporating IIP slides into his presentation, Mr. Husbands gave detailed information on the history of the United States’ peaceful Presidential transition as well as the specifics of the 2008 Presidential transition. 

Mr. Husbands, along with DCM Melinda Tabler-Stone and SPAS Julie McClanahan, then fielded questions from an enthused audience for nearly an hour. Questions ranged from inquiring about President Obama’s foreign policy agenda to the nature of the “two-term limit” for Presidents. The lecture was given to a full audience of over 200 guests.
